Thanks Marc.
We hit it in chapter 19 but I'd really recommend you also hunt down Henry Jenkins book Convergence Culture, which heavily influenced my thinking on the subject and is an excellent look at the implications

where exactly is this topic discussed in your book?

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read the thing cover-to-cover, in favor of the more frenetic hyperlink-style glances, such as your squidoo article on memetics, and other pages...

But this discussion sounds particularly interesting--enough to bump The Art of Memetics to the top of my "Nook; Currently Reading" list.

I found some website that specialized in funding and showcasing such projects ages ago, and I'm sure I'll never find it again. Any advice you have on that subject, also, would be appreciated.

Furthermore (for the record), let it be said that anyone not already receiving Wu's RSS feed is missing out big time. Thanks Wes.

Meme development is no different than muscle development. If we practice the status quo - than the status quo is what we default to.

If we practice change, the art of adaptability ... then we will no longer be content with "the same." We will gravitate towards view that risk is not bad - but necessary.

Interesting concepts. I only recently wrote a book about very similar ideas in the Society for M&S Magazine: http://www.scs.org/magazines/2011-01/index.htm
“Evolving Ethics – The New Science of Good and Evil,” by Steven Mascaro, Kevin B. Korb, Ann E. Nicholson, and Owen Woodberry, is looking at these issues and ideas with several of Netlogo examples.

This sounds great. I'd love to share my experiences and to get my hands on the final product. I failed fantastically towards the end of my "persona's" first life cycle but managed to establish a couple milestones along the way. The sheer energy requirement to maintain him simultaneously with my private life was trying. A number of the behavioral modifications made then have been added to my general repertoire with great effect. Certainly it was complex of exploration and an experiment in effectiveness through months of hard work & exhilarating fun.

Best to you.
